Summer days at Camp Ketcha start with a simple tradition: morning circle. Counselors greet campers by name, groups share their goals, and laughter sets the tone for the day ahead.
Mornings are packed with action; one group might tackle the climbing wall while another heads into the woods to search for animal tracks. After a picnic lunch, the afternoon could mean cooling off in the stream, painting under the trees, or playing a high-energy game on the fields.
The day winds down with songs, reflection, and a sense of accomplishment. Campers head home with tired feet, happy hearts, and a story to tell at the dinner table.
As campers leave for the last time each August, they take home more than crafts and muddy sneakers. They carry confidence earned from trying something new, patience learned while working with a team, and resilience built through challenges and setbacks.
Parents tell us their kids return from Ketcha more independent, creative, and willing to take healthy risks. Those lessons, woven into the fun of camp, stick long after the season ends.
Summer camp isn’t just a break from school, it’s an investment in skills and memories that shape who children become. And at Camp Ketcha, we’re proud to be part of that journey.
