The Lynxes is an on-going support group that provides a fun space for kids with anxiety to connect and learn strategies to add to their coping tool box. Program activities focus on social emotional learning and reinforcing the coping skills learned in our evidence-based Maine Coon Cats program. Each session also incorporates outdoor activities and skills such as learning the body language of our barn animals, problem-solving on the ropes course, and compass navigation.

Stress Reduction With Nature
June sessions will be focused on facilitating a deeper connection to nature through activities like learning tree identification, sensory scavenger hunts, and nature journaling. Through hands-on activities, journaling, and discussion, we will experience how a relationship with nature can offer a space for calming our bodies and minds.
Growth Mindset on the Ropes Course
July sessions will use a combination of low and high ropes activities to explore how teamwork and a growth mindset can help us overcome challenges both on and off of the ropes course.
Back to School Coping Skills
August sessions will be focused on preparing participants with tools for back-to-school anxieties. We will discuss participants’ back-to-school worries, play games, and do creative activities that teach social skills and coping strategies for social anxiety, perfectionism, and overwhelm.
