Senior Outdoor Survival
Participants in the camp will acquire a diverse set of survival skills, ranging from mastering fire-building techniques and safety measures to crafting walking sticks through whittling. The program emphasizes fundamental orienteering skills, enabling participants to navigate various terrains effectively.
Additionally, participants will learn to create survival bracelets, demonstrate proficiency in knot applications, and gain expertise in constructing shelters for protection in the wilderness. The ropes course climbing component enhances their physical capabilities and resilience. Tracking animals and constructing traps contribute to their understanding of wilderness survival, while overnight camping skills prepare them for extended outdoor stays.
Participants will develop proficiency in outdoor cooking techniques. We focus on applying Leave No Trace principles to minimize environmental impact, identifying and utilizing plants in survival scenarios, recognizing the importance of shelter, water, fire, and food in survival priorities, and fostering trust, reliance, and connections among peers within the group.
