James began working with Camp Ketcha as the Portland Gear Hub’s Director in July 2024. Originally from Australia, he found his way into the world of bikes while working as a sustainability consultant in Melbourne—commuting, tinkering, touring, and volunteering at his local bike coop. Upon arrival in the US in 2021, he became involved with the Bradley Street Bike Co-op in New Haven, first as a volunteer, then going all-in as the Lead Mechanic and Programs Co-Manager.
He enjoys repairing bicycles and getting them to people who need them as much as he loves riding them. Stop by the Portland Gear Hub and he’ll help set you up with a bike and some outdoor gear to get you outside on your next adventure.
