Our Facilities

Our Grounds & Trails

Ketcha Outdoors encompasses a total of 107 acres of beautiful fields and forest which provides the perfect backdrop for our year-round nature-based children’s programming. In addition, our property also features an extensive collection of trails that are open to the public and eventually connect to the abutting 90-acre Scarborough Land Trust Libby Farm trail.

We invite families and friends to enjoy our property for hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and environmental education anytime Ketcha Outdoor programs are not in progress. Furry friends are also welcome to visit the property as long as they remain leashed. We ask that all visitors refrain from bringing motorized vehicles onto the property. Click here for a Trail Map.

The Main Building

The first Barn that “Camp Ketcha” inherited with the property served as the Main Building of the organization for years until it was unfortunately destroyed by an electrical fire in 1999. Since then Ketcha Outdoors has been rebuilt and the current red building offers classrooms for our preschoolers, rainy day spaces for our campers, and the beautiful backdrop from several weddings.

The Main Building is locked on the weekends.

The Barn

Ketcha Outdoors has offered summer farm programs since its founding, in 1987 construction of the barn began to create a dedicated space for farm education and animal care. Currently year round barnyard residents include 7 Goats, 4 Ducks, and a handful of chickens. Our animals serve as living ambassadors of the local ecosystem. Through hands-on encounters, campers get to observe and learn about various species, their habitats, behaviors, and roles within the ecosystem. Learn more about our Farm Programs.

The Barn is not open to the public outside of scheduled events.

The Waterfront

The Waterfront as it is affectionately known, is the area that houses both our pond and our in-ground swimming pool. Both places are favorite spots in the summer for campers to cool down and catch frogs. These spaces are not open to the public under normal circumstances as we do not allow any swimming to take place without the presence of a certified lifeguard.

The Ice House

The Ice House is the only original building from the time of purchase to survive on the property and has since been refurbished into an additional space for our children’s programming. The Ice House can be found at the start of the Libby River Farm trailhead. The Ice House is off-limits to the public.
