Taking place in Camp Ketcha’s beautiful forests, this outdoor class will introduce the fundamentals of qi gong, forest bathing, and meditation at a beginner’s level. The techniques will also serve to deepen the practices of more advanced mindfulness students. Students will experience different forms of moving and stationary meditation combined with mindful immersion in nature.
The different segments of this class will revolve around exploring mindfulness as the ability to focus our awareness. Since what we focus on forms the moment-to-moment experience of our lives, mindfulness can have a transformative effect. The class will give students a grab bag of mindfulness techniques to take home and enjoy while also providing a space in which to recharge and center themselves!
*The class will include two ten-minute walks at a slow walking pace on a trail. During the meditation portion students can sit, lay down, or stand on the forest floor. Students should wear comfortable clothes and sturdy walking shoes. Students should bring water, bug repellent, rain gear, and something to sit or lay down on if desired.
Class will meet outside the Ice House which is located on the left side of Black Point Rd. before you reach the Ketcha Outdoors sign.
