The Chickadee summer camp program runs each summer out of the Ice House (our preschool building). We like to think of this program as an “Intro to Summer Camp.” Chickadee campers participate in one traditional camp program area (e.g. Swimming, Low Ropes, Farm & Garden, etc.) each day and spend the rest of the day in free play in our natural environments, following a similar daily schedule to our popular school year program. This program runs under our childcare license and is a separate program from the rest of Camp Ketcha. It is directed and operated by the Farm & Forest School teaching staff.
Program Days & Hours
- Core Program (all campers are required to enroll in this program) Monday-Thursday mornings, 8:00-12:00
- The drop-off window is 8:00-8:30. Our day officially begins after that.
- Monday-Thursday afternoons (optional add-on): 12:00-3:30
- Friday (optional add-on, full days only): 9:00-3:30
Eligibility
Chickadees Camp is designed for rising preschool and pre-kindergarten students, which are typically children ages 3-4. These are children who will be entering either their first or second year of preschool in the Fall. Children must be at least 3 years old on their first day of Chickadees camp.
- Students who are rising Kindergarteners are not eligible to participate in Chickadees camp. The Cottontails program at our main summer camp is better suited for children headed to Kindergarten. You can click here to learn more about Cottontails.
- Chickadee campers must meet all of the same eligibility criteria as our school-year students. Please review these criteria to ensure your child has the skills needed to succeed and thrive in our Chickadees Camp program.

* We do not have week-by-week registration options for Chickadees campers. Children at this young age need more time to learn the rhythms and routines of their community, so Chickadees uses a Block scheduling format to better meet the developmental stage of these young campers.
