What is Adventure Challenge?
Whether you have an individual classroom, and entire student body, or an alternative education program, our programs can help students expand and examine their thought process and how they interact with their classmates. Our school programs are based on satisfying the educational building blocks for successful and fulfilled adulthood according to the Maine Learning Results.
Depending on your groups goals, you will work on different activities and challenges that can be applied to all of these terms:
- Communication
- Problem Solving
- Self Reliance
- Personal Growth
- Teamwork
- Leadership
Our company’s experience at Camp Ketcha met our needs perfectly and far exceeded our expectations. Our best retreat yet!
– Megan R.N., Portland Community Health Clinic
All our challenges require students to communicate with each other in a clear and effective manner in order to be successful. Challenges test the mind and make the students think “outside the box” in an integrative way. Most challenges are group based, and the use of a Full Value Contract helps students stay involved and be a valuable member of the group. We’ve had multiple alternative education programs come out to Camp Ketcha for weekly programs.
We offer team building programs that are custom designed, affordable, and tailored to fit the needs that you layout for your group. Camp Ketcha uses field initiatives, low ropes challenges, and obstacles on the high ropes course to challenge participants. The wide range of initiatives test participants on their communication skills, teamwork, trust, and empathy. Whether your program wants to touch on one of these skills, or all of them, we will work to meet your needs.
Low Ropes
Low elements stress the importance of teamwork, problem solving, and cultivating strong communication skills for positive peer interactions. All ages and ability levels are welcome to join in on the fun of our team building low ropes program. We offer three hour and four sessions.
High Ropes
High elements allow you to individually push yourself beyond perceived limits and comfort levels with the support of the rest of the group. Our high ropes challenges include a zip line, a vertical playpen, and many more fun obstacles. All ages are welcome with qualifying ability level.
Half day programs (3-4 hours) include the low ropes for the first hour. Full day programs (5-6 hours) include a morning full of low ropes and an afternoon of high ropes challenges.
In order to move onto the high elements the group participates in low ropes as a team building activity to allow everyone to reach a level of success. We use debriefing techniques led by your Camp Ketcha Ropes Course facilitator, to learn from the overall process of the experience, not just the outcome.
I’ve been through over 20 of these freshman transition days and this was, by far, the most epic event
