We are pleased to be able to offer financial assistance to families in our community. Our scholarship fund is supported generously by local businesses and families who share our values in supporting youth and families to have access to and truly wonderful experience outdoors!
Giving Guidelines
We aim to assist families who live in Maine and may need a subsidized rate and extra assistance affording camp or preschool.
Ketcha Outdoors is committed to increasing access to the outdoors for diverse communities including Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and LGBTQIA+ individuals and families in crisis or experiencing temporary extenuating circumstances that prevent them from being able to send a child to Ketcha. We encourage all people to apply for financial assistance but priority will be given to these applicants.
Full tuition is not able to be awarded to maximize the limited funds we have available. Also, to extend the impact of our limited funding, awards for specialty camp programs are extremely limited.
No financial assistance will be awarded to families with outstanding balances nor will they be allowed to attend.
Financial Assistance will be applied as indicated in your award letter.
Financial Assistance Application
Submitting an application does not guarantee that you will be awarded financial assistance. If your application is denied and your child does not attend camp, your deposit will be returned to you. To maximize the number of families we can assist, only partial scholarships will be awarded. You will be notified as soon as possible about the status of your application. Empty, blanks or false information below WILL dismiss your application.
Timeline: Financial Assistance Applications will be reviewed monthly beginning February 1st. The Financial Assistance Committee will review completed applications received by the last day of the previous month. Families will be notified about Financial Assistance by email within two weeks of the Financial Assistance Committee Meeting.
Third-party Agencies
Camp Ketcha is happy to work with community agencies that subsidize camp tuition. Any family receiving financial assistance from an outside organization or another service provider, must provide written authorization from the agency that states that your child has been approved to attend Camp Ketcha and it must indicate how much of the total tuition will be paid by the agency and how much, if anything, is the parents’ or guardians’ responsibility. This total amount must match the tuition due on your child’s registration form. We will consider any difference between what was authorized by the outside agency and the total amount due to be the parent/guardian’s responsibility, and that portion must be paid in full before the child will be allowed to attend camp or preschool.
At this time we can not accept Child Care Vouchers through the State.
