One summer can change a life.
One summer of our programs can change a young life for the better, forever . . . we know this from experience. It is our mission to provide equitable access to outdoor experiences and gear, to promote well-being, sustainability, and resilient communities therefore securing funding for scholarships is a year-round effort for us.
Through our Scholarship Fund, we can open doors for youth who would otherwise not be able to attend our After School program, School Vacation camps, Summer Camp programs, or our bike mechanic classes. We work hard to ensure that Ketcha Outdoors is a place where children can forget about pressures at home and school and instead experience the benefits of time spent outside, connecting with nature, learning new skills, and building relationships with their peers. While many of our families can afford to attend our programs without a struggle, a significant number of our families grapple with the expense of making camps, aftercare, and preschool or classes happen for their children. We need your help to continue our efforts to promote access to outdoor programming and make it available to more children in our community.
Our Scholarship Fund is applied to all of our programs including our Summer and Vacation Camp programs, our Aftercare Program, our Farm and Forest Preschool program and supports scholarships to our Be Your Own Bike Mechanic class at the Portland Gear Hub.
Our kids learn together, form lasting friendships, and develop a respect for and a relationship with the natural world which in turn promotes future environmental stewards for our planet.
