Mini Art
Campers discover their artistic side and let their imagination soar. Children will create through various projects such as making clay sculptures, sketching, watercolors and paints, nature collages, tie-dyeing, making picture frames, necklaces, bracelets, and more. We will have art projects to complete daily and extra time in our art cabin each day. Campers will create masterpieces to take home and enjoy!
Junior and Senior Art
During their time at camp, participants will utilize our Art Cabin as their central hub for daily creative endeavors. Here, they will delve into their imagination and hone their artistic abilities, using various materials such as paints, glue, and markers to complete both individual and collaborative projects. Exploring mediums including clay, charcoal, watercolors, and natural materials, campers will create everything from traditional artworks to natural collages and master the art of tie-dye. Alongside their creative pursuits, campers will go on nature walks to collect natural materials while observing plants and wildlife, fostering a deeper connection with their surroundings. Additionally, senior campers will have the opportunity to broaden their artistic horizons through a field trip to the Portland Museum of Art.
Through these immersive artistic experiences, campers will not only develop a unique sense of style but also gain an appreciation for diverse forms of artistic expression. Engaging in hands-on art activities will aid in the refinement of fine motor skills crucial for tasks such as writing, while also stimulating brain development during early childhood. Moreover, art’s sensory-rich nature encourages open-ended play, nurturing the growth of cognitive, social-emotional, and multisensory skills in children, ensuring a holistic and enriching camp experience.
