This camp is a collaboration with our friends at the Portland Gear Hub!
Campers at our X-Games-style sports camp will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in thrilling activities like skateboarding, biking, and climbing, all under the guidance of experienced instructors. They’ll collaborate with mountain biking experts from The Portland Gear Hub to hone their cycling skills on trails and roads, ensuring safety and proficiency in various terrains. Skate enthusiasts will enjoy sessions at local skate parks, both indoor and outdoor, as well as at the Midcoast Youth Center, where they’ll refine their skateboarding techniques.
A highlight of the camp experience includes a visit to Salt Pump for a day of climbing training, where campers will learn essential climbing techniques and safety protocols. Additionally, they’ll tackle the high ropes course at Camp Ketcha, building trust and teamwork as they navigate the course together.
Campers will not only develop cycling and safety skills but also improve their balance, coordination, and self-confidence. By practicing their skateboarding skills and working on the challenges of the high ropes course, campers will foster teamwork, trust, and resilience.
*Campers will need to have a bike for biking days, but a skateboard can be loaned out if needed* Please provide advance notice if borrowing equipment is needed.
